At first sight, it becomes apparent that Tomb Slayer VR makes a point to blend the old and new by combining futuristic functionalities in an anachronistic and archaic environment. This is first seen in the setting. You are situated in an ancient Egyptian sepulcher. However, the protagonist is equipped with an ultra-high-tech firearm which resembles something straight out of the space-age. The futurism theme is carried over in complementary aspects meant to enhance gameplay; being that navigation occurs through teleportation and enemy spawning transpires through a dimensional portal.
