Eternal Spring VR Experience (PC)

Put yourself in the shoes of someone facing religious persecution in China. Jin Xuezhe adopts the alias “Mr. White” after the government bans his spiritual practice. He can’t sit by as disinformation in the state media maligns his faith, but speaking out brings the risk of arrest, and worse.

This 12-minute interactive documentary combines live-action video with animated recreations brought to life from the drawings of Jin’s fellow Falun Gong practitioner, acclaimed comic book artist Daxiong (Star Wars, Justic League) who, like Jin, was forced to flee Changchun City to escape persecution.

The film features a custom soundscape designed by Bret Killoran to trigger haptic sensations delivered through the new Woojer Vest, allowing you to feel the cops apprehending you on the street and sense your heart pounding as you’re then threatened during interrogation.

A standalone experience, ETERNAL SPRING (長春) VR adds a new dimension to the story in the animated documentary feature ETERNAL SPRING (長春), Canada’s official submission to the 2023 Academy Awards® for Best International Feature Film, and also qualified for Best Documentary and Best Animation. The VR allows audiences a rare opportunity to dive further into the story of a character from an acclaimed documentary feature film.
