Edito: Al final nada.

Initial Observations.....
I am coming from an Oculus Rift, 8600K/Gtx 1080TI/16gb DDR4 Ram @ 3200
I didnt have much experience with WMR's. I did have the old Samsung but did not like the hoops you had to jump through at that time so sold it. So I am a realative Noobie when it comes to this headset.
My initial setup was based off of the WMR settings page here in the VR section. I placed my DX11 files PPD at 100 and SS withing SteamVR at 130 to start. I saw that my PC was not tasked at all (i was holding 90fps in traffic/grid) so upped the SS to 220. Still held 90fps. Did not go further as testing time expired for me.
Thoughts. Its clear, the colors are vibrant, the SDE is all but eliminated. Meaning I have to ACTIVELY look for it. And this is with me possibly being able to change my in-game settings and go further with my SuperSampling. So the technology must be working. WIth that said, even with my Rift, the screen door effect was not as pronounced as most people were saying....and I had my PPD on Oculus at 170-190 most of the time. So not sure if the Samsungs new technology or SS at 220 is why there is no SDE. Those with lesser equipment may not have the same experience if it is simply because of my high SS. If it is the technology, then im going to guess they will have a similiar experience.
As far as how it felt on the head....not that great. I am used to the Oculus RIfts comfort being a 10/10. Getting the samsung to an acceptable "feel" on the head doesnt necessarily let you have the optimal viewing point. Meaning, whats comfortable on your head, may not facilitate the best picture. So you will need to decide, do you want the optimal picture or comfort? I dont like having to make the choice...i want both. I would give the COMFORT LEVEL on the new headset a 5/10 at best. Again, I'm comparing it to the Rift.
As far as Optics, its great. It is clear. I can see further in the distance, and quite sure with adding SS or fine tuning the in-game graphics (i had them on the stream, feel free to let me know whats best) it can be even better.
Setup. Setup was a breeze. Had a little issue with audio before I realized you had to go into windows settings itself to allow sound to goto the headset. Dumb design, why wouldnt the sound output selection just show up as usual? The controllers paired immediatley without any input from myself. Basically turned on the controllers and they paired themselves. Much better than the first Odyssey. I believe this upgrade has them pairing to the headset and not your pc. I believe thats what I read.
A few things I didnt like. Changeing your ipd (round adjustment at bottom of headset) brings up a 70 percent transparent square that blocks about a 1/3 of your view in-game, and subsequently takes around 30 seconds to disappear. Also gets in your way of looking at an object to dial it in perfectly. Who thought this was a good idea? Amazes me how developers can be so smart yet so stupid in some design choices.
Second, I would find that if i leaned forward or backward the cockpit would move with me. I fnally figured out the fix though after the stream, simply redo the basic setup and choose standing/sitting, the non-movement option. That seems to have fixed it as i was able to lean forward and backward without the cockpit moving. So i guess this second CON can be scratched off.
BIG CON, the headset in the two races i raced decided to throw up a steam screen in the middle of the race. Effectively causing me to crash and also crash others. This is a ridiculously bad software design. Now im new to the WMD scene and obviously there is a way to shut whatever that was OFF so it doesnt happen. I looked through STEAMvr settins and found a few things that looked like DO not disturb etc, so i checkmarked them. I havent tried a race since doing that, hoping that solves that problem. If you guys know what makes that happen and how to stop it from happening let me know.
So my initial thoughts are,
Uncomfortable (thats not going to change)
Not as much wow factor as I was anticipating
Nice clear picture
SDE technology is working OR its just that my superSampling is high
Setup was easy
Software is still a bit of a process to get started as opposed to Oculus Rifts set it and forget it.
For now, i'll say it is not worth upgrading from a current gen Oculus Rift/Vive/First Edition Odyssey.
Im sure I do not have it optimized and will give an updated review after im confident I have it set optimally and give it a fair shake.
For the experts out there on settings, is it better to leave the dx11 at 100 and just use SS, or put the DX11 High and leave SS at its default? Basically, if there is any improvements you think i could do to my settings so i am using it optimally feel free to let me know.
I'll be running some more races today, so feel free to jump in the stream and comment, make suggestions on settings, and ask questions.
